Meet the Camp Amahami Team

Anna “Banksia” Miller (she/her)

Camp Director

Background:Outdoor adventures and summer camp were very formative for me growing up in the foothills of the Adirondacks. As my career in education progressed, I kept coming back to the lessons I learned while surrounded by nature and knew I wanted to provide that opportunity for everyone to learn and teach in. Pursuing more opportunities in education, especially in outdoor ed, has led me to live abroad several times, most recently in Australia. I am thrilled to be back in NY and using my extensive experience as a director at Camp Amahami.

Hometown: Clifton Park, NY

Favorite Camp Activity: Camp Cookouts, night walks, and off-site trips, especially on the river.

Camp Name Origin: Banksia (bank-see-ya) is a wildflower native to Australia. It has a beautiful cylindrical shape, and comes in many colors, shapes, and sizes, and is of great cultural and environmental importance.

What I love about Amahami: The many trails and rich, diverse landscapes! It is a great setting to have adventures with good camp friends.

My Duties: I work year round at Amahami, helping to facilitate events on and off site in our area. In the summer you can find me on site, supporting our great staff and volunteers, as well as our campers.
