Hoover is located on scenic Song Lake. The lake is owned by the Song Lake Association which does not permit public access, so our waterfront remains fairly quiet and calm. We have a swimming area divided into sections for different swimming abilities. Water shoes are required to be worn by all swimmers. We have canoes, rowboats, and kayaks. We also have our own private island, Girl Scout Island, that is perfect for troops looking to go primitive camping.
Song Lake is a kettle lake that occasionally experiences algae blooms. In this case, water games will substitute swimming.
-
We will have approximately 35-55 campers at Day Camp.
-
Drop-off begins at 8:30 am and pick-up is at 5pm at Hoover.
Busing is available for an additional $50 per camper per week from Destiny USA, in Syracuse, and/or Wegmans in Dewitt.
-
Yes, financial assistance is available for registered Girl Scouts. We want every Girl Scout to be able to experience camp regardless of their financial situation. Please register for camp first to hold your spot, and then submit this aid request form online.
